Maplefields Training and Development

Maplefields Training and Development teamed with the Ofsted outstanding Maplefields Academy in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Established in 2014 and formerly known as Maplefields Teaching School Alliance, we worked with our strategic partner special schools to facilitate initial teacher training, provide school-to-school support, behaviour outreach support and training and development, widely to schools in Northamptonshire and beyond.

The introduction of the teaching school hub programme, which aims to create 87 centres of excellence for teacher training and development across the country, replaces the previous network of around 750 teaching schools, including our own.

We have reviewed the impact of our work, our offer to schools and feedback we have received over the years and as a result, from 1st September 2021 continue under our new name Maplefields Training and Development.

We work with the Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub who play a significant role in delivering school based initial teacher training (ITT), the early career framework (ECF) and the new specialist NPQs.

In addition, we continue to provide school-to-school support, which forms a separate arm of the DfE, our tailored behaviour outreach, high quality training and development and our ITT programme as the lead school in partnership with SAF (Sharnbrook Academy Federation).

We are proud to be consortium members leading on this crucial work in Mental Health.
