Essex County Council

Who are we?

We are a group made up of educational psychologists (EPs), teachers and other educators who work across the county of Essex.

We are all very experienced practitioners with a passion for supporting and meeting the needs of children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

What do we do?

We aim to provide support, advice and guidance to overcome barriers to learning and engagement and support emotional wellbeing and promote good mental health.

We do this through consultations, training, coaching, modelling, group problem solving and supervision to other people who work with children and families.

We all work within multidisciplinary teams providing consultation to education settings, early help partners and social care colleagues as well as collaborating with colleagues in the health sector.

We have several areas of expertise with regard to emotional wellbeing and mental health and are involved in delivering commissioned projects for Essex CC.

We are delighted to be part of this nationwide consortium and to be able to offer this training which has become part of our county wide SEMH strategy.

We can be contacted by emailing semhstrategy@essex.gov.uk
